WEDNESDAY'S WANDERING

I found myself meandering today, amidst words, thoughts, feelings and questions. I felt like I was traversing through a word forest hacking thorny bushes along the way to make space for clarity, or the clearing from where I could see the sunlight glimmering through the tree tops. I tried to trample on tall blades of grass that appeared to have some evil conniving plan to obstruct my view on possible topics for this blog post…and it was at that moment that I saw the sun, not merely glimmering through dense leaves and thick tree tops but bathing me in all its glory.

I have always adored alliteration, however hackneyed, cliched or common it may appear. I love the simplicity, the ring, and I find a rhyme and rhythm to it that reminds me of dancing. I have heard people condemning the use of alliteration in good writing. There are rules against it, I think, but my love for alliteration always stays supreme; because I firmly believe that it sticks. It has instant recall, like world wide web for instance. Anyway, after years of making a point to avoid it altogether, I have now decided to throw caution to the winds.

When I had decided to launch a weekly blog, I picked Wednesday. It was the middle of the week when the Monday rush hour had passed and Tuesday’s tedium was opening up to a mid-week hope that the weekend was coming. Thursday, therefore would go by quickly because Friday wasn't far.

When I had decided to launch my Wednesday blog, I had decided to call it Wednesday’s Wisdom. The more I thought about what wise words to write, however, the farther I went from it until finally I found myself in a mental jam, stuck for even a word to say, let alone a wise one.

I found myself meandering amidst words, thoughts and feelings, between conniving blades of grass and that moment I had my sunlight shower was when I understood that I can have wordy, wondering, wandering, wise, witty weekly Wednesday blogs and they will all work well.

So, stay synced.

Love and Light,

Cheelu Chandran
